The Leadership Council of Aging Organizations (LCAO) is a national coalition comprised of 70 organizations focused on supporting America’s older adults. LCAO provides a unified voice for older adults and their families in ongoing policy debates about aging and long-term care.
For years, PHI has informed the coalition’s legislative agenda, ensuring that direct care workers are at its center. We have also played a significant role in LCAO’s advocacy efforts, meeting regularly with federal lawmakers to discuss aging-related concerns and supporting the coalition’s public response to pressing policy concerns. Most recently, PHI joined 110 organizations in a joint statement and full-page newspaper ad opposing the proposed federal effort to restructure Medicaid and reduce health care access, which would have harmed direct care workers and families nationwide. PHI is also a member of the coalition’s community service committee.
