Creating a culture of respect is the best way to meet the “cultural diversity challenge” found in many long-term care facilities, writes PHI Coaching and Consulting Services Director Susan Misiorski in her latest blog post for Long-Term Living.
Differences in ethnicity, class, religious background and other traits can affect daily interactions between residents and direct-care staff, Misiorski writes.
PHI’s organizational change consultants can work with facilities to ensure that those differences do not interfere with quality care.
“Learning about each other is a fascinating journey, and it begins with a real commitment to creating a respectful environment for all,” Misiorski writes.
