Generations Vol. 40, No. 1 – American Society on Aging
Introduces the Spring 2016 issue of Generations, which was guest-edited by the article’s authors and is entitled “America’s Eldercare Workforce: Who Will Be There to Care?” The authors point out that eight years have passed since the publication of the Institute of Medicine’s Retooling for an Aging America, a groundbreaking report identifying the nation’s eldercare crisis and calling for a reform of the eldercare system. Yet since then, they write, little has been done. The authors identify a need for wholesale, not marginal, reform to the eldercare system, with a particular focus on the “core, central relationship between the elder and the caregiver.”
