Home Health Aides’ Experience with Client Death: The Role of Employer Policy
Journal Article
April 20, 2016
This journal article evaluates the experiences of nearly 80 home health aides (HHAs) to determine whether their employers’ policies regarding client death had an impact on their job quality. The researchers separated the HHAs based on whether their employer restricted their ability to contact a client’s family after his or her death. The researchers found that HHAs working for more agencies with a more restrictive policy experienced less job satisfaction and were more likely to want to leave their jobs.
