Community Living and Support Services (CLASS, formerly UCP/CLASS) serves adults with disabilities in Pittsburgh and surrounding western Pennsylvania counties. The agency provides residential services, attendant care, community skills training, vocational programs, outreach and advocacy.
CLASS adopted PHI’s model curriculum for personal care attendants, and agency educators participated in a three-day train the trainer program. The CLASS educators then rolled out the new training program to 70 personal care providers supporting CLASS clients throughout Western Pennsylvania.
"There is nothing on the market that combines the technical training with the hands-on, adult-centered approach and also teaches the communication skills, time management, and sensitivity that are so vital to this work.”
Diane Cagey | Associate Director of the CLASS Attendant Care Program
