For nearly three decades, PHI has played a leading role in shaping the public narrative on direct care work in this country, relying on our extensive experience with long-term care providers, our research and policy analysis, and our regular engagement with journalists in both trade and mainstream press outlets. Because of our success in strategic communications, as well as the growing interest in our country’s expanding long-term care system, the topic of direct care workers has risen in visibility and importance.
Communications Consultation
PHI helps policy advocates and long-term care providers better frame and message their approaches to the direct care workforce and the long-term care system, working with them to strengthen their policy campaigns and public education efforts. We offer practical guidance on creating data-driven arguments and human interest stories that can influence leaders of all types, positioning these issues for maximum public impact.
As part of this work, PHI shares lessons learned from years of policy advocacy and public education, such as our ongoing #60CaregiverIssues campaign, a two-year public education effort to identify 60 solutions to the country’s growing workforce shortage in home care. Already, the campaign has garnered significant media attention and will reach more than one million people online by year’s end.
