Caledonian House at Scottish Home
Scottish Home is a small, private community in North Riverside, IL that provides both assisted living and nursing care services, as well as loving care, friendship, peace of mind, and enrichment to countless residents and their families. With support from the Chicago Scots, the Scottish Home has a long history of providing care for older adults throughout Chicago and its surrounding areas.
In 2015, Scottish Home broke ground on developing two small homes to serve older adults with dementia, which it collectively called Caledonian House. PHI is consulting with Scottish Home to bring our PHI Coaching Approach® and an empowered staffing model to these homes. At Caledonian House, 20 older adults live in one of two small households, where life revolves around the people who live and work in the homes. The Caledonian House celebrated its grand opening of the first of two households in 2016—both households are now open.
