Although open enrollment for coverage through the Michigan Marketplace has closed, you may be eligible for health care coverage through the Healthy Michigan Plan.
Healthy Michigan is a new low-cost health plan for Michigan residents who make up to 133% of the federal poverty level. That works out to about $16,000 for a single person and $33,000 for a family of four.
The Healthy Michigan Plan covers doctor visits, prescription drugs, hospitalization, and several other benefits at a low cost. For more information, visit www.HealthyMichiganPlan.org.

NOTE: Employer penalties for not providing health insurance to your staff have been postponed until January 2015, giving you time to understand the ACA and how your staff will be impacted by it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it too late for me to sign up for health insurance coverage?
Open enrollment through the Health Insurance Marketplace has closed, but there are certain circumstances under which you may be able to still get coverage. If you have had a “qualifying life event” such as moving to a new state, a change in your income, loss of insurance, or change in your family size, you may be able to enroll. Go to www.healthcare.gov for more information.
I heard there is a new Medicaid plan in Michigan. What's that about?
Yes, the Healthy Michigan Plan is a new Medicaid plan available to individuals and families with income less than 133% of the Federal Poverty Level. For more information, go to www.HealthyMichiganPlan.com.
What are these "Navigators" I keep hearing about?
Navigators are people who are trained and certified by the federal government to help you understand what coverage options are available under the Affordable Care Act and help you enroll in the Healthy Michigan Plan. They are employed by community organizations across the state, and are there to answer your questions, not sell you insurance. To find a Navigator in your community, go to www.enrollmichigan.com.
