Information for Long-Term Care Employers
You can provide a wonderful benefit to your direct-care employees this year, and help them keep more of their money at tax time, by promoting the free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program or the free I-CAN! E-File software at your workplace (learn more about these programs).
Resources
Paycheck stuffers are a great way to inform your staff about these benefits. Below are two rounds of paycheck stuffers for use. Because early outreach is important to steer people away from expensive, paid tax preparers, we have paycheck stuffers that are intended to go out through mid-December. These paycheck stuffers provide basic information on the EITC and VITA sites and encourage people to plan ahead for using free tax resources starting in mid-January.
The second round of paycheck stuffers are intended to go out in late December through April 15, and provide information on where they can find a tax site in their community.

Posters are a constant reminder to staff about free tax resources. These can be displayed December through April 15 in your break room, staff cafeteria, or by the time clock.
