The PHI Health Care for Health Care Workers campaign works to achieve health insurance coverage for direct-care workers—and to raise awareness of their need for coverage within the broader movement for adequate, secure, and affordable insurance. To fulfill this goal, we pursue four broad interlocking strategies:

• Raising public awareness of the direct-care workforce’s need for health insurance.
• Building multi-stakeholder alliances and strategic partnerships that spotlight the direct-care workforce within the larger health insurance movement.
• Providing technical assistance to state officials and long-term care advocates interested in developing coverage strategies for direct-care workers.
• Developing resources for state and federal policymakers and advocates.
