Webinar: Effective Teaching Strategies for CNAs

The Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes campaign is sponsoring an online webinar, Training Staff for Greater Impact: From Ho-Hum to Dynamic, Tuesday, May 12, 3:00 pm. Focused on effective teaching strategies for CNAs, the webinar provides an introduction to the adult learner-centered approach to training.

This highly interactive approach to teaching engages learners by drawing on their life experiences and encouraging critical thinking and problem solving. PHI has been using this approach to develop training programs for two decades.

The AE-sponsored webinar features PHI Training and Organizational Development Specialist Maureen Sheahan, along with Mary Compton of Seasons Seminars, who presented a session at AE’s December gathering in Dallas, Texas.

View the flyer (pdf) for more information or register online. Handouts will be posted by May 9th.

I am unable to participate in the webinar. Will there be other times to obtain this information?

  2. Hollis Turnham says:

    Fay,

Sorry you missed the webinar. It was fantastic. So different than most webinars in presentation.

The powerpoint used by the presenters is already up on the Advancing Excellence website along with a training module, using adult learner centered techniques, for each of the Campaign’s goals.

The audio of the webinar will be up on the website in about a week.
