PHI has officially moved into its satellite office in Washington, DC, where it will expand its mission to improve the quality of direct-care jobs nationwide.
From its new outpost, PHI will be better positioned to call attention to issues facing the direct-care workforce on a national level.
PHI’s presence in the nation’s Capitol is timely. It is already engaged in advocacy to ensure that federal health reform includes adequate and affordable coverage for direct-care workers, and that provisions are included to invest in education and training for the direct-care workforce.
The new office will also allow PHI to be in closer contact with federal agencies in pursuit of its “Quality Care through Quality Jobs” agenda.
Two senior PHI Health Care for Health Care Workers campaign staff — Director Carol Regan and Campaign Manager Allison Lee — will work out of the Washington office as Government Affairs Director and Federal Legislative and Advocacy Manager, respectively. PHI’s headquarters remain based in the South Bronx, New York.
PHI will share its Washington office space with The Workforce Alliance, a national workforce development policy organization headed by Andy Van Kleunen, a former PHI policy director.
The new PHI Washington office is located at:
