2009 PHI Publications and Resources in Review

4 mil chartIn 2009, PHI published a number of new resources supporting efforts to create a stable, well-trained direct-care workforce.

We have:

  • analyzed occupational data showing that the direct-care workforce is soon to be the single largest occupation in the country (4 million workers);
  • pressed for changes in our health care system to improve coverage for direct-care workers;
  • encouraged employers to support direct-care workers with innovative training initiatives; and
  • provided policymakers with data and other information on the direct-care workforce.

All PHI resources are available, at no charge, at our National Clearinghouse on the Direct Care Workforce.

Please also visit PHI’s website for policy and training resources, and information on our Health Care for Health Care Workers campaign.

We wish you a very happy and healthy New Year!

  1. Steven Dawson says:

    I simply want to state, publicly, what an impressive amount of work these publications represent–all created within just the past 12 months–and to thank our Communications and Policy staff and all the other PHI staff members who have invested so much of their time and talent to produce such a broad array of excellent work.

  2. Dolly Fleming says:

    I echo Steve Dawson’s appreciation. Thank you PHI for helping all of us in the fields and vineyards with relevant healthcare workforce and consumer data, stories and compelling policy analysis.
