Brian DiPaolo is PHI’s Development Writer. He contributes writing and editing to PHI grant proposals and reports to foundations, working in conjunction with PHI’s Development Director and program staff.
Prior to joining PHI, Brian wrote feature articles on social and political controversies for an educational periodical, and conducted freelance writing and editing work for several publishers. He holds a B.A. in English from SUNY Geneseo, and a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from Emerson College.
Angelina Del Rio Drake

Angelina Del Rio Drake is a Development Writer for PHI. She works with PHI program staff and partners at Cooperative Home Care Associates to write and edit proposals, reports, and correspondence to foundations and sources of public funding. Her responsibilities include helping to expand funding opportunities for both organizations.
Before joining PHI, Angelina was the Assistant Manager of Grants Development at a healthcare IT company. She has experience leading grant writing projects to secure public funding for technology targeting access barriers in health services and education. She has also worked as a freelance journalist and has published articles related to nutrition, physical fitness, travel, and the arts. Angelina received a B.Sc. in Nutritional Science and a B.A. in Health Studies from the University of Toronto.
Ben Freeman

Ben Freeman, Development Director, guides PHI’s strategy for securing foundation support, helping to secure two thirds of the organization’s annual income. His responsibilities include managing PHI’s development team, overseeing fundraising communications, and maintaining relationships with foundation staff.
Prior to joining PHI in 2004, he worked in information technology and as a freelance journalist. He holds a B.A. in English from Brooklyn College.
